Seeing Is Easy

For the majority of people, seeing the world around them is something that comes naturally, however for a certain few, understanding what it is that they are seeing is a completely different matter. Seeing Is Easy is a conceptual animation that looks to explore the obscure sightings of a young man suffering from a neurological disorder known as Visual Agnosia – ‘The difficulty in recognising common objects from vision.’ This animation has been created by Taylor Richardson and William Cole using rotoscoping techniques on top of filmed footage, borrowing inspiration from Richard Linklater’s A Scanner Darkly. The artwork for this piece takes great influence from the surreal works of artist Vladimir Kush and the fantastical world depicted in Lewis Carroll’s novel Alice In Wonderland.
